Airline Safety

Airport security scans, etc can only go so far.
I travelled a lot by air in the 1970's as an employee of TWA(now extinct). Took parents to Israel soon after the 6 day conflict when hijacking was in vogue.
In what I now consider a truly genius strategy, as part of a reasonable security check, all passengers were told all El- Al flights had a unidentified air Marshall passenger with full authority to use deadly force... more »

EMP Preparedness. (Electrical Magnetic Pulse)

Is the DHS doing anything at all to prepare as well as protect our nation from an EMP attack? If not, why not? Something this serious should NEVER be ignored!! An EMP attack could wipe out our power grid leaving us without electricity for many months, possibly years! This event or weapon, commonly known as an EMP, creates a short burst of electromagnetic energy that can disrupt or even destroy electronic devices and systems,... more »

H2A Mailing of I-1797C/I-797B Petitions

The I-797C Petition Receipt Notice and the I-797B Approval Notice are very important documents for the employer to be able to request worker visas. In May 2016, USCIS announced that if the employer included a prepaid label for the I-797C and the I-797B, they would use UPS mailing vs. USPS standard mailing.
However, there have been several times since the above announcement, including two recent cases, that the employer... more »

H2B visas ought not to be expanded this year.

Congress recently approved an expansion of the H2B program from 66,000 to 135,000 visas this year. However, the actual expansion is at the discretion of Homeland Security.

I encourage DHS secretary John F. Kelly not to expand the program. Businesses which complain about a lack of workers usually are paying too low a wage or have bad working conditions, or are deliberately manipulating the hiring process to screen out... more »

Border Security

Wall of solar panels generating enough hydrogen to eliminate burning of fossil fuels for US energy needs and secure the border.

The two thousand mile wall of solar panels on the Mexican border would generate enough hydrogen to supply the total energy requirements of the USA. The solar panel array could be constructed to form a wall on the border that would ensure total border security.Hydrogen burning fuel cells could power every vehicle and power plant that currently burns fossil fuels, therefore making our total energy consumption solar powered.... more »

Separating Kids from Parents and Asylum

Here are some easily implemented steps- that shouldn't have to involve Congress passing a law (good luck on that!)- to substantially reduce the number of applicants for asylum

1. No longer accept requests for asylum at the U.S. border. Shift the responsibilities to our embassies in the various countries from which the people are coming.

2. When a person with children requests asylum at an embassy, take a DNA swab... more »

US southern border idea

Instead of a massive wall supported by electronics and huge numbers of agents why not a basic wall like what is currently being used and add something like 5 acre cross fenced square lots all along the barren areas of the border with retired Latin Spanish speaking veterans living, initially in propane powered FEMA type housing on each lot? With intranet connections and webcams everywhere, these people could greet those... more »

Background Review for National Music, Films, Television Continuity

I am concerned that national publishing is highly controlled daily event that demonstrates awareness and knowledge of continuity to industry insiders that mocks up and performs work that corresponds with sources that are left uncreditied and unexamined. Fire security for California and other states.

The ongoing fires in California could be a resultat of terrorism or sabotage against the state. I think it is high time to take steps towards higher fire security in all fire vulnerable states. Use of a large number of webcameras, drones and fire guards are needed in my opinion.
