Border security idea

Warning, this message is intended to stimulate an "out of the box", open minded brainstorming on securing the US- Mexico border, since ONLY the "wall solution " limitations and/or costs are being noted mostly to discredit the POTUS.
How about we pivot to a 25x25 yard trench, filled as needed with nuclear reactor spent fuel rods, so a 25 yard radius deadly event horizon results. Since Yucca mountain reneged as a waste... more »

Mexico Border Crossings - The Victims

The real victims of illegal border crossings over the Mexico border to the U.S. are hundreds of migrants who die in the desert every year. The Los Angeles Times and others have reported that this number of deaths ranges from over a hundred to two hundred and more painful deaths every year despite the reduced number who actually attempt to cross in recent years.

The vast majority of these people are desperate family... more »

Real Gun Laws can be enacted

March 2, 2018

Dears,

Appreciate the “caliber” of this presentation as you will.

Inarguably for most Americans, there must be several legislative acts to, at minimum, reduce gun violence. Here are some suggestions:

• Outlaw the sale to civilians ALL war weapons, i.e.: machine guns, RPGs, Flame Throwers, etc.
• Outlaw the manufacturing and sale of “bump stocks”
• Outlaw the sale of ALL high capacity magazines, including... more »

Lawyer accompaniment for law enforcement

Lawyers should accompany law enforcement in several areas in America. This would allow the citizen to fully understand their rights and ensure that the law is enforced correctly by adding a third party to the situation. This would ease tensions in highly problematic areas and could prevent violent altercations between the citizen and the officer by adding a third party intermediary to interact with the citizen instead... more »

Border Security

I am a retired Industrial Engineer who has recently been working with solar developers wanting to lease my farms in Virginia for a commercial Solar Farm development. I am for securing the US Southern border, but concerned about the cost and efficiency. One thing the US Government may consider for securing remote parts of the border is a public private partnership of continuous line of connected standard solar farms.... more »

Internet Traffic Blocking From Outside USA

There is only one logical/rationale option of restricting and limiting the serious damage that hacker's cause via access to the USA internet system including government, business, military, and citizens, and that option is completely BLOCK all internet traffic coming into the US. At first glance, you may say What!! Not possible. But wait, it is, and perhaps it will require legislation and the cooperation of every internet... more »

Why didn't you release my idea?

I couldn't help noticing there are at least three ideas listed (approved in hours) after my, still "pending approval" comment was made a week ago. I presume now it will never be approved. We both know, my comment doesn't breach the site rules unless you are calling the verifiable truth an insult to the government.

I also couldn't help but notice the irony, the dramatic irony and the astounding irony as noted below.... more »

Please Release Additional H2B Visas Now

Seasonal businesses and American workers are suffering in Maine. There are simply not enough American workers to meet the labor demand in the thriving Maine tourism economy. Our business and many others are experiencing extreme difficulty in staffing seasonal positions. Our American workers are being severely stressed due to lack of seasonal H2B employees that have been returning for many years. For those that think... more »

1 SOLUTION TO THESE 3 PROBLEMS * ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS* *FUNDING FOR THE WALL* *SANCTUARY CITIES*

I have a idea that will get bipartisan support for a BILL to "Build the Wall", deal with ALL the "Illegal Immigrants" , men, women and the "dreamers" and that automatically does away with Sanctuary Cities!

Make a "one time" offer to all illegals immigrants (men, women and dreamers) and give them "ALL" the chance to become legal citizens, not just the millions that the sanctuary cities are threatening to give citizenship... more »

Defense against high rise shooters

I just heard a guest on CNN say that there’s no defense against a shooter in a high rise building.

I think there is a defense – an Apache attack helicopter could have easily neutralized the shooter with one shot. Seems that the NV Sheriff office may want to add an attack helicopter to their equipment list.

Every major city may need one someday - sad to say.

Soft targets can be secured at relatively low cost

If there were four snipers at each of the four corners of the concert gathering at Mandalay Bay Hotel, this massacre would not have happened. It would probably have cost very little to have four snipers for four hours. Soft targets can be secured at relatively low cost. The first step is to identify all soft targets; the second step is to secure them.

Incediary rounds.

http://edition.cnn.com/2017/10/10/us/las-vegas-shooter-incendiary-rounds/index.html

The Las Vegas shooter might have tried to blow up a tanker truck using incendiary rounds.

Anyone can get these off the internet, which can be fired from even a handgun.

Gas stations are refilled by these tanker trucks. Hopefully DHS tries to limit the accessability of pressurized LPG tankers to high density urban areas. I would hope... more »

BE Ashamed

There is no reason to kick out the hurricane victims from
Honduras, Nicaragua. Haven't they been in the USA for 20+ years?
They have made their homes here and for most of the kids, it is the only
home they know. This will not break or make the USA but it makes a life
changing difference for them.
Recently, the USA has made many bad, hard decisions.

Those that come here in their hour of need actually make very good... more »
