Vet Net

There are many Veterans in this country who are also ham radio operators, that are motivated to protect this country. A nation-wide network of dedicated volunteers would give an added layer of security by having more eyes and ears from coast to coast, and give our Veterans the satisfaction of having a worthwhile purpose in helping to keep America safe. This could be an added component of the DHS's AuxComm.

Post to stop vehicle massacres

Seeing that using vehicles to commit mass murder, I have an idea:
Plant poles and posts between sidewalks and streets. These need only be in places where high pedestrian traffic is likely.
They should be placed so that a vehicle travelling at high speed could not negotiate between them, They could be
wooden telephone poles or weak-looking posts constructed of solid steel and implanted in about five feet of concrete.... more »

Improved Pictures on Military Retirement Cards

I recommend DHS reviews the current picture quality being used on military retirement cards. The pictures used are barely legible using black and white film of a low quality. As a retired veteran, I travel often to military bases around the DC area. On several occasions, I've noticed security takes a longer look at my retirement ID card because of the picture's quality. In low light conditions, it's even worse. There... more »

Better identification

It is high time to exchange all outdated surveillance cameras with low resolution technic. In order to be of any important use for law enforcement as evidence material the resolution must be of HD quality. The purpose is after all to be able to identifye cars by the licence plates and the perpatrators by face identification, sometimes by a computer program. If you know you have a poor surveillance camera make a difference.... more »

THE ANTI-USA CABAL

Ever hear of the saying “there are no coincidences” … At what point does a “Conspiracy Theory” become a Plausible “Fact Pattern”… “The Nunes Memo” is a mere TREE among a FOREST of issues …and because I am apolitical, I am perfectly willing to put aside the memo and refocus on the forest below (Bear with me).

School Security from Gunmen.

Our leaders are NOT thinking out of the box regarding school student safety and protection. It has become a political party issue instead of a joint effort to find a solution. My idea is to consolidate a school facility and small police detachment at each school. This would be a permanent location for a small detachment of policemen that can also react to concerns in the geographic area. The school would be ringed... more »

TRANSLATIONAL CRIMINOLOGY - SHOULD WE AS A SOCIETY PUT GUNS ON TRIAL OR HUMANS ON TRIAL

PURPOSE: The purpose of this topic is to make it abundantly clear that violence, school shooters, and similar issues involve addressing a (nearly) 100% HUMAN PROBLEM. Solutions will be multifactorial and balanced. I will test the soundness of taking all guns away, and briefly talk about where people can obtain information about the root causes of violent activities (criminology research) as well.

enhanced driver license

Do not understand the requirement that a person have a permanent physical address in order to qualify for an enhanced driver license. As retirees with no home in our home state of Washington, only a private mail box, my spouse was refused an enhanced drivers license when she renewed her drivers license. We have our mail forwarded to temporary housing as needed. Seems like there should be an exception for those of us in... more »
