What is the problem: Americans need to file and pay taxes to the US even if they live abroad. In essence Americans abroad need to file and pay taxes twice. The US (together with Eritrea), is the only country that enforces this practice. Gun legislation may be helpful in the long term, but our students need to be protected now. This is about protection, not prevention. We can't prevent guns from getting into the wrong hands. But we can protect students and others.
