VOTER VALIDATION FINGERPRINT READER, IRIS SCAN, OR TAKE A PICTURE trending idea

PURPOSE: Consider biometric scanners in voting centers.
-
CAPABILITY:
DHS has an Office of Biometric Identity Management (since 2013) that could (potentially) be used for the purpose of validating voting.
-
PUBLIC WILLINGNESS:
I would be perfectly willing to have my fingerprint read prior to voting (or iris scanned or picture taken in the alternative). I cannot think of any reason to be adverse to this, unless you... more »

Government sponsored internet

The government should sponsor the internet for free for limited access. To apply for jobs, as most jobs are applied for on line and to vote on-line. The government has the facial recognition capabilities and could allow a 100% vote in america and could be seen as a matter of national security for there to be a mandatory 100% vote in every election, always!

Thank you,

ADC

USA Internet

A governmental program with its own unique security features that allows American citizens access to the internet in limited capacities. This would allow all citizens to vote online and apply for employment at home with many security features based off of fingerprint confirmation and facial recognition programming. I believe that this could be a prominent factor in voting security while allowing the voice of all... more »

Return to Paper Ballots

Computer experts have identified vulnerabilities to our election process when using electronic methods. Voting machines can be programmed to flip votes to a specific candidate using a few second delay so the voter is unaware this has taken place, unless the voter goes back to review their entire ballot on the machine. Even in areas where paper ballots are used, scanning machines can be programmed to fractionalize or skip... more »

Extreme Measure

Absent a secure voting system, to ensure our Country's elections remain a true democratic process I propose the following:

An internet blackout--prohibiting access from any sovereign, other than our own. To protect our military and others who are abroad the blackout would require a different means of communication for them to ensure safety. The blackout would last all of election day until all votes are tallied and announced.... more »

Simple, cheap and doesn't require changing anything

I live in California, the heart of voter fraud. As the Democrats control the state and won't allow the Republicans to enforce or change voter I.D. Laws the answer is simple. Post an I.C.E. Agent outside polling spots you could even just Park vehicles at most, this simple trick will scare illegal voters away and make repeat voters leary about voting under somebody else's name. If the Democrats complain they will just be... more »

Centralized Blockchain Voting Platform

Blockchain voting is taking the current process of voting in an election and bringing that process entirely online to make it easier, secure, and cost effective for everyone involved.
The voter would download and install the app on their phones and from there, have their identity and picture verified by an Identity Verifier, which would be approved by the organization hosting the election ahead of time. Once their identity... more »

Call out Foreign Trolls Directly - Let the Public Know Who and What Actors are Malicious

While social media companies have recently stepped up their efforts to combat foreign influence on elections, more can be done to alert the public and to dismantle disinformation campaigns. Quacks and conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones or other weirdos should be called out and isolated. We should not allow messages from foreign facebook, twitter, instagram, or even harmful memes to become viral or otherwise influence... more »

Require all polling place computers have dot gov, instead of dot com

Chris Krebs, Head of Cyber Agency, DHS, was interviewed on NPR, All Things Considered," January 26, 2020, "Why Elections Officials Aren't Taking A Simple Security Step," by Miles Parks.

It was pointed out by Miles Parks that cybersecurity firm McAfee analyzed domain names, noted that a huge majority of states' counties had the much less secure dot com domain instead of the secure dot gov domain. In Texas 95% and in... more »

Ensuring Elections Run Properly with COVID-19 Pandemic

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Americans will be afraid to go to the voting booths for the primaries and general election. As such, states will need to prepare for an influx of absentee and vote-by-mail ballots. processing and verifying these ballots is going to be a monstrous task, especially for states and counties that typically receive very little absentee ballots. With automatic signature verification of ballots, counties... more »
