Implement premium processing for form I-765 (EAD)

Countless of legal immigrant are facing longer processing time for renewing their form I-765 (EAD) taking more than 6-months. As a majority of EAD renewals do not fall in the automatic 180-days renewal categories, and newly requested EAD receipt notices do not grant work authorization the only option for applicants is to try an expedite request.

Allow immigrants to work with USCIS I-765 receipt notice

Due to the current health crisis, USCIS processing times are taking longer than it did. EAD documents were usually delivered in up to 90 days but they currently take up to 12+ months to be processed.

Allowing employers to validate I-9 with an USCIS I-765 renewal or new receipt notice would allow immigrants to jump start on working while waiting for their EAD to be processed. This would certainly reduce the number of... more »
