School Violent Intruder Alarm System

Like a fire alarm, a violent intruder alarm installed in school buildings would enable anyone who observes a violent threat to notify 911, campus security, and occupants in the building of the threat by pulling the handle on an alarm mounted on the wall (next to the fire alarm). This alarm would broadcast an announcement inside the building informing people of the violent intruder and tell them to Run-Hide-Fight. This alarm could simultaneously broadcast an announcement in other buildings on campus to Lock-down or shelter in place.

The announcement inside the building under siege could broadcast; “Violent Intruder, Run-Hide-Fight.” This broadcast will inform occupants of the threat, tell them what to do, and may accelerate the active shooter’s decision to end the violent assault.
