COVID upswing coincides with 9/11

This could simply be a coincidence, but I feel I should report it.

I was looking at the daily number of new cases of COVID nationwide and I notice that it peaked on July 16, dropped to a minimum in mid-September, and since then has been rising dramatically. I did some mathematical analysis and discovered that the date the number of new case began increasing was Sept 12. This set off alarm bells in my head because it's very close to the anniversary of 9/11.

I would be glad to show my calculations to someone with a math/programming background to verify my findings. But in any case, I think the coincidence of this date this warrants further investigation.
